Sheilah R. Cotten Field

Sheilah R. Cotten Field is one of the premier Junior College Facilities in the country.  The field measures 200 feet down each line and to center field and maintains the same depth in each of the alleyways.  The facility also features brick dugouts and backstop with safety padding as well as a warning track that covers the perimeter of the complex.  The warning track consists of red brick chips and measures 6 feet in width from the right field corner around the backstop and to the left field corner and 8 feet along the outfield fence.  The Winstead Training Facility sits just beyond the Center Field fence and is the home to a covered hitting facility and locker room for the Hurricanes.  The hitting facility features two cage lanes that are covered in game day turf and can have a net pulled back to have one big area large enough to do infield work and throw bullpen sessions.  The locker room features 24 lockers, a couch, big screen television, restroom and closet storage.  Being added for the 2018 season is a 20'x16' scoreboard that will be the premier scoreboard for any college softball facility in the state of North Carolina.
