Eric Lee
Head Coach
Eric Lee was named Head Coach of the Louisburg College Softball program on September 5th of 2017. He brings over nine years of coaching experience to Louisburg, spanning all levels of softball from kids all the way up to NCAA Division I college athletes.
"I'd like to think Athletics Director Mike Holloman and President Tolbert for the opportunity they've afforded me to lead the Hurricanes," said Lee. "It is a dream come true to be a head coach at this level and I can not wait to begin the process of establishing a culture of excellence not only on the field, but also in the classroom."
Lee comes most recently from Wake Christian Academy in Raleigh, NC where he compiled a 54-24 overall record in his three years at the helm of the Bulldogs. The team won two conference titles, had 13 players named all-conference, five named all-state and made the 2017 NCISAA State Finals. It was the school's first ever trip to the state finals.
Prior to his seasons in Raleigh, Coach Lee was the assistant coach at the University of Mount Olive where he coached the hitters and led the recruiting efforts. He was instrumental in the delivery of 12 student-athletes to the university in his lone season there. He coached multiple all-conference players and an all-region performer. The Trojans went on to win the Conference Carolinas Championship and compete in the NCAA Division II Tournament during that 2014 season.
Lee's first stop at the collegiate level was at Division I Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. He worked with base runners and coached the slappers during the 2013 season. The Camels raced to a 39 win campaign and finished the season ranked in the Top 5 nationally in stolen bases. The team fell just short of a Big South Championship, but had multiple players named to the all-conference team and the Big South Freshman of the Year. Head Coach Drew Peterson was named Coach of the Year.
Lee is married to the former Brittany Stanley, a standout pitcher for Campbell University from 2007-10 and coach from 2012-15. The couple has a one year old daughter, AnnaGrace. They reside in Garner, NC.
Sara Lippard
Assistant Coach
Following a four year playing career at NC State and a stint as an assistant coach at East Carolina, Sara Lippard joins the Louisburg College Softball Staff as assistant coach.
"We are very fortunate to be able to bring someone of Sara's ability to our staff here at Louisburg," said first year head coach Eric Lee. "She had a great playing career in an elite program and has gained experience by continuing on as an assistant at a high level NCAA Division I program."
During the 2017-18 campaign, Coach Lippard will serve as the Defensive and Short Game Specialist. She will also coordinate the Hurricane efforts in the weight room and with conditioning.
Lippard was a part of a Wolfpack program that reached unprecedented success in her four seasons there. In 2015, Lippard and company compiled an overall 38-22 record and won the Harrisonburg Regional. The Wolfpack advanced to the Knoxville Super Regional as the first school from the state of North Carolina to achieve that level of success. NC State came one win from making a trip to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City.
Upon her arrival to ECU for the 2016-17 season, Lippard was a part of a staff that led the Pirates to it's most successful season in years. They finished 2017 with 26 wins and broke the American Athletic Conference's Home Run Record by belting a staggering 64 homers on the season.
“I would like to thank Coach Lee for giving me the opportunity to coach at Louisburg College,” said Lippard. “I am very excited to continue my coaching career with the Hurricanes softball program.”
Lippard is a native of Wilson, NC. She graduated from Wilson Christian Academy prior to going to NC State.
